Scenario editor. How to set research?

So at the start of the game when choosing scenario editor, I was trying to setup a scenario with nothing, but 3 naked sims and a random pet. Starting with nothing researched. So you have to wake your way up from scratch. The options available for faction are New Arrivals and New Tribe. And both have specific things researched.

But what about starting with nothing researched? Is it possible? So you have 3 naked sims that have to survive, and go through research to tech up for better capabilities.

Theres a mod on workshop for that. "Crashlanded know nothing" and "tribal know nothing". Theres probably a naked brutality know nothing too I'd imagine.

Thanks. I was referring to the scenario editor built in the game. Where you can edit the starting scenarios. So it doesn't apply to research? You can only pick one of those two options that already have a certain research setup? There's no way to edit research without using mods?
