Colonist Left Unburied
Hello all,

Relatively new to RimWorld (Although I have a few mate who have been coaching me) and my colonists all have the 'Colonist Left Unburied'. I've already set a grave for the dead guy, but his body is nowhere to be found on the map (I set stockpiles for corpse's). I've just been through a very unfortunate series of events and -10 debuff is killing me for what I think is a bug? Is there any way to fix this (I am more then happy to edit files ect.

Thanks

If he has been unburried for a long time he could be a skeleton by now (or just discoloured) and blending in with the scenery.

Been looking for a good half hour as it's basically made my colony unplayable as it is

I wish I could be of more help man, I'm newwer to the game myself though so still got learning to do. I'll google around and see if it's a common issue atleast (unless a more experience user beats me back here).

Ok so I did some digging around and found this to be a common issue for us newbies, your colonist is almost certainly a skeleton by now but he IS there somewhere.
This post has some instructions on how to find and dispose of your colonist. https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/238760/how-do-i-find-a-deceased-colonist-in-rimworld

Make a sarcophagus and set it to where it only accepts colonists. If they don't bring anything to the sarcophagus then the body might be destroyed. Pretty sure they still get the unburied mood hit if the corpse was burnt up or incinerated, so you might not be able to bury em.

Plus you can assign the sarcophagus to that colonist and they will go and haul him to it.
One of my pawns got eaten by my dogs didn't get the unburied debuff

1. Dig a grave where you would like the desiccated colonist to rest and set the grave to only accept colonists and to allow rotting and allow fresh just in case he's not rotted away. Set to critical priority for good measure.

2. Disallow colonist corpses from all of your corpse stockpiles in case the colonist's skeleton is hiding in your dead raider pile. Make sure to disallow colonists from ALL of your corpse stockpiles because he is hiding pretty well (He's not in your freezer is he?)

That should do it. The first step creates a place you desire the corpse to be. The second step disallows the corpse from being in an existing stockpile. If Mr. Bones is on the map somewhere or if he is hiding in a corpse stockpile a hauler will fetch him to take him to the grave.

Your post was hours ago so I'll bet you found 'em already. It's not a bug (unless you've got a mod misbehaving). He's probably rotted and behind a tree so it's hard to see him.

I've had the sarcophagus with him assigned to it for a very long time. He was only removed when one nutjob decided she wanted to show everyone

I'm guessing it's a mod seeing as I've looked everywhere

Nah, as long as the corpse is gone it's all fine and dandy. Burn it, send it in a drop pod, butcher it, shred it to pieces with a grenade, feed it to something hungry, place it in a pool of water to make it deteriorate faster. All fine, socially accepted ways to treat your departed on the rim.

Well maybe you sent the drop pod to the stars, or had your friendly neighborhood psychopath dissmantle the drop pod and throw the body in the river

Are there any solution for this de-buff ? had this for like a game year and its still there, causing issues from time to time, any possible way to make it go away ?

There is a mod called Therapist and Snap Out Of It!. Therapist mod lets you build a therapy couch with a seat nearby and a colonist with the job selected will talk to other colonist and help remove debuffs like this. Snap Out Of It! will let other colonist talk down another colonist when they have a break incident and may potentially end it right as it starts.

I had a colony where one of the colonist had his reproductive organs destroyed by a horse (Birds and Bees mod and Giddy Up! horses addon). He had a permanent -25 mood debuff for being castrated. Thanks to therapy with a talented doctor he was able to come to terms and the permanent -25 debuff for it was removed.
