How to encourage pawns to partner up?
My colony's starting to run out of residential space, because most of my pawns are single. Is there a way to encourage them to partner up? Looking for either mods or tips :)

Have them work close enough together to talk a lot.

Do traits and interests have an influence on partnering up? Alcohol consumption/drugs?

They will either start to like each other, in which case you will soon have a couple.
Or they will hate each other's guts. In which case separate them else they will try to separate each other's limbs.

Oof. Are beer goggles a thing in Rimworld? Because I'm thinking I just get all my human pawns drunk and high af (have my androids and worker droids do all the work in the meantime) and hope couples happen lol

I don't think so. Not exactly.
However, pawns are more prone to making good/happy interactions if their general mood is good, so there is a little bit of that.
I'd advice a nice shiny statue in their workplace, rather than booze. Gives them something nice to discuss.

Also, try to enforce communal meals in a very, very nice dining/rec room.
Pawns that have just eaten a nice meal, and are surrounded by nice things, are less likely to fight than the same pawns slaving away in the dirty mines.

Well I'm running the Call of Cthulu cults mod, and every day (or twice a day if I so choose) everyone gets together and do a sermon, then go have breakfast together. Turns out having an organized religion is great for social cohesion lol

In a colonist's "Social" tab you can see their opinion of each of the other colonists. If you want to micro it some than identify two single colonists that already have a high opinion of each other and try to arrange their day to day work to put them close to each other. Their positive chitchat will hopefully encourage a relationship.
By no means will this guarantee a hookup but it will do what it can.

My colony is pretty big at this point (114 including elder things and androids) so microing it might be difficult, but all the crafting happens in one room so a lot of them spend a fair bit of time together
With an extremely large pop they might not chat enough individually. However there is a concept from DF that will encourage pawns to couple, build a small but nice compound with everything a couple will need and then restrict them to that area until they either hate each other or want to share a bed.

"Go to this house and stay there till you either love each other or one of you dies"
Sounds like my university apartment lol

114 people. erm, beings.. erm... do Elder things from Cthulu count as Beings?
Ah. And androids, cannot forget about the androids.

And you want them to socialize?

"Care for an appetiser, my dear?"
<Android zz-4097b looks on with a frown>
"dlurg, you know she's on a vegan diet!"

Oh, there's also cat-people. Because the goofy knockoff-warhammer universe I've created is basically "let's chuck a bunch of random stuff from the depths of the internet into a blender and see what comes out" lol

Yeah they already have four hours lol
In between androids (with their personalities removed) and the service droids, most of my sentient colonists have ♥♥♥♥ all to do all day, except go hunting, art and playing videogames.
I'm in a jungle, too...
Florida.
I made Florida.

Drop ICBM on your base and pick survivors - building new colony without commun damned xenos :steamhappy:

Also your mods maybe source of this issue. In vanila pawns freely trying to pick-up anyone attractive to them (hidden stat), whom +/- same age (AFAIK older man is less penalty then older woman) and not lead to incest.
