Crops rotting
Hey,

I am running into a issue that all my fields are just rotting, no matter what I plant there. Growth is zero and it stopts between 5 and 15 %. I got 10 to 30 Celsius outside, so the temperature should be fine with almost every crop. What am I missing?

Greetings

What mods have you installed? Sounds like Terra Project, which is pretty clearly broken if you read any of the comments.

Daytime temperatures of 10C or less will slow growth and 0C will stop growth.
You also need to specify the types of crop, as some will perform better than others in terms of temperature.
So how cold does it get at night?

Oh I am playing without any mods atm, first playthrough

Its never minus, and I am trying all the crops right now, all are just rotting after a few minutes. No matter if I plant corn, potatoes, healring roots or rice :(

...and you have rotting? They must be indoors then. Click on the button in the lower right section of the screen that shows roofed areas. Sounds like you built walls around your field and your helpful pawns assumed you wanted to roof that area in as well.

What type of soil have you planted them in?
BTW, do they have blight? That is the only thing that will cause them to rot, as temperature will only slow or stop growth.

They are not indoors, the first 2 seeds were perfectly fine. And suddenly they are just rotting. I got fall, but I am very up north, so it is never getting cold at night. The fertility is 100 % in every field. The brightness is around 90 %.
What is blight exactly? Couldn't get a translation for that word :D

Is toxic fall out happening?
Is there a poison ship on your map currently?

Look over at the right hand side of the screen, near the temperature readout. Let us know everything listed there. (or post a screenshot of that)

Crop blight (Erntefäule) is an event that affects crops. It is a contagious plant disease that spreads.

Blight is disease. If your crops have blight, you should see them having a yellow color on them. The disease spreads and kills your crops. if you have that, you should turn off planting, cut all your crops (since they are all probably affected because you didn't realize you had blight to deal with) then after a short pause, turn planting back on and re-sow your fields.

You need to specify what exactly do you mean by "rotting", and what exactly is affected by it. Preferably with screenshots.

From memory, rotting plants is them reaching their natural life-span without having been harvested.

Each plant has its own duration before they begin to rot (you should be able to check the info section for each), which begins from the moment of planting.

Chances are you've got sub-optimal growing conditions, so by the time they're ready to be harvested they're also one-foot-in-the-grave.

Soil, lighting, temperature. Check how those are going, because thats the most likely culprit.

Don't be afraid to make a room with a SunLamp inside and a heater set to +10'C , if the outside weather is consistently inclement.
The sunlamp requires about 2900W, which is three wood-burning generators - but plants have a down-time so the sunlamp shouldn't be running 24/7, which should let you charge connected batteries.

Hopefully that helps. :-)

Edit: apparently I failed at reading comprehension. You already covered some of this stuff. :-)

Do you still have this issue with a new colony? Like, if you start a new save in a Temperate Forest, do you still experience plants rotting?

Yep i guess thats it, they had a yellowish touch on Them. I already cutted them, but apparently replanted them too fast. So it should be working fine If I would just plant them somewhere else?
Anyway, Thanks to all of you, so far!
