Disposing of rotting food?
Does anyone have a strategy for getting your colonists to dispose of rotting food? It's stuck in stockpiles from when it was not rotting yet and they have nowhere to put it. But if I create another stockpile and say "allow rotting" they also put fresh food there.

Anyone know a trick to make a stockpile that only holds rotting food?

Make sure that the stockpile that allows rotting food is of lower priority than the one that doesn't.

If you don't mind mods, here's an alternative:

As Joe said, exploit stockpile priorities.

If the one allowing rotting is a lower priority than the one that disalows it, they'll never put fresh food in the lower priority one, unless the higher one is full.

Do you mean animal corpses, because food doesn't rot

Sounds like you mean animal corpses. Just make a stockpile for animal corpses, and allow rotten corpses.

That can be created qquickly by using the dumping stockpile or else the regular stockpile with the right filter choices.

I use the method mentioned earlier. A second storage that allows rotten at a lower priority. Though I do use a mod for composting later that makes it moot.
