In extreme measure you can also attack the marchand, if you trust your ability to defeat it.
If you play with mod, I know there is a mod in order to select where they must go and wait.

I never see them park inside any of my buildings, but then at least 70% of my home area is open and not an enclosed space.
Of course, the traders will prefer to eat at a table and will take advantage of your hospitality to visit your dining room and eat at your table.
For this reason, it's not a good idea to place a table and chair in any bedroom (what good reason would there be for this anyway?).
I don't therefore suffer any problems with traders and so I have never needed that mod.
The wall idea is good.
I don't have tables or chairs in my bedrooms and yet the traders run in and out of the bedrooms like insane people.
All the while their animals are inside my building crapping all over and robbing me blind.
Thanks for the suggestions.
