animals that eat grass etc. will also search for food they like.
I always create animal zones, including a grazing/hunting pasture that will allow them limited free range over a large area, but one I can keep a good eye on.
Any wild predator that nears the pasture will get a hunt bill set to them. Better to kill them, than have them attack my animals, or worse, go mad and then try to kill my pawns.
