The dev is not putting it on sale on principle. The principle being he promised to not put it on sale to those of us who bought the game at the current price. He is just keeping his word.

Guess he'll have to live with his 97-98% positive Steam rating without you. Best of luck!

100% agreed op. they seem like a bunch of greedy bastards on their way to over priced game. only 1/2 interested in even playing it but no sale ever is pushing that 1/2 down to a tenth

I know I will get a lot of hate for that, but I agree. I would really like to buy that game, but I just don't get it why there's no sale.

Well thats easy ... so you can buy the game anytime you want and don't have to wait for a sale.

Having sunk many hours into it, i must say its worth every penny.

I agree, for the amount of gameplay and quality it should be priced higher than most AAA games, not lower.

Of course another argument is AAA games should be cheaper, and to that I say, then everyone needs to quit paying the devs/publishers of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games at 60$.

I would argue that the point of Early Access in general is to get more money to fund your game. I would say a sale would boost those number a good amount for fence sitters (like myself)...I mean if there are 14 pages of topics that means that there are people who are interested in the game but not at the $30 price point and to basically tell people "tough" for even suggesting a lower price is pretty aggresive stance to take towards people interested in a game. Not saying the game isn't worth $30 just that it's more of an impulse buy at $20 then it is at $30.

Thats a very rude and hurtful thing to say during the Holidays. Although i can afford to buy this game 10 times over i wont now simply out of principle. With that said there proably are some "poor asses" as you so kindly put out there who cant afford the luxury .... Merry Christmas to you sir

THANK YOU, thats 1:1 my opinion. I am not saying the game does not deserve this price, but 30$ are 30$.

He doesn't need a boost in sales, the game is easily completely funded at this point. The only reason it is still early access is he is still working on it. The plan is to leave it in early access until he is basically done with adding to the game, and then I'd expect release, followed by any small bugs that may need squashing or minor balance changes.

He has ran his development more according to the old definitions of industry terms:

Alpha: game does not have all systems in place
Beta: all system in place, bug fixing, balance and minor content additions still being worked on
Release: game is basically done

Normal people pay what they think the game is worth, this game is top notch and a bargain with a dev team that actually stick to their promises. Ever heard the saying cutting off the nose to spite the face?

They are, very few games on Steam deserves the full asked price, RimWorld worth more than the tagged price. It seems expensive before buying it, and a bargain after.

This game hasn't been released yet, how is it old? It is still under development and gets huge updates frequently.
