Visual guide of how to make rooms?
Looking for a resource out there, if it exists, on how I need to be making my research rooms, bedrooms etc. Preferably one that shows recommended size for mood boosts/efficiency.

Simple one on Bedroom size:

In the end, it's about balancing what you have with what you need and then what you're able to do... :) For bedrooms, I generally make them 5x5 interiors or around there, when possible. It's a decent balance of space needs vs "reality." Sometimes, you just can't fit them all in if they're too big or you end up having to put bedrooms far away from the likely work places.

(Note: I tend to find that it's not too difficult to keep pawns happy at their crafting benches as long as they're not in an extremely small space. Keeping things clean and adding an art/carpet helps. A very nice chair does more than provide a slight comfort boost - It looks nice, too. :) Replace the chairs built by inexperienced Construction workers early in the game when you can.

In crafting areas where pawns will be spending a lot of time, make them nicer... Adding a scultpure/plant pot helps a little bit. Keeping them clean helps a ton.

Make a separate room for your Research bench and make it as nice as possible, silver tiled floor if able, very nice chair, smoothed walls or marble, cream/dark carpet, +research/efficiency items, etc..

Thanks, that video was very informative. So basically just make every room at least 5x5 interior to avoid the cramped debuff. I was throwing my kitchen and other workbenches in a room that was basically 3x3 interior and had no clue

A 5x5 room is convenient in the early game, because eliminating that penalty is the easiest way to make a "decent" room. Later you can add impressive items to the room, which lets you get away with smaller rooms if you want.

if I remember correctly there is an article (I found it in google, I do not remember where exactly) where someone researched different types of rooms/floors/statues/sizes and basically the smallest room they could get the 'very impressive' stat (without using gold for anything in it...except royal beds) was 5x4.
5x4, with royal bed, dresser/bedside table (both made with beautiful materials), the floor made of beautiful materials also, and a large statue (excellent or higher) made of beautiful materials.
With gold items (statues/dressers/etc..) I think they managed to go slightly smaller room size BUT even they recommended not doing so unless you somehow have a huge surplus or gold, or are able to get gold very easily and often.
