TV viewing area question.
Do you have to have chairs in this target box it shows facing the tv?
When using beds in the area, does the facing of the bed matter? does the whole bed have to be in the box?

Can you have it so your dinning chars and tables are in the zone so they watch while eating?

I never bother with tv for beds. Every time i've tried it, they just sleep not watch tv.
However the wiki says

Because of its huge size, it may be hard to find a good position for it.

Yes, you want chairs for watching tv.
YesYes, by default I use my tv that way. megascreen tv, covering all the chairs around a long table in the dining room.

Small p.s.
Did you know you can operate the megascreen tv outdoors?

ive never got that far, heh, tube ones are all ive got so far.

i took the tool tip for bed and tvs as medicala rooms, where they are in bed awake healing.

but for chairs, do they HAVE! to be facing the tv? or can it be back to tv, like small 1x2 table in middle of view area and chairs all round the table?

Chair facing doesn't matter. Colonists don't multi-task though, so they will not eat and watch TV at the same time.

They can use the existing chairs at the dining table to watch TV, though. It's up to you, of course.

If you're trying to min/max chair count/space and the like, it's a good option to cover that area with the TV as long as there's the chance there will be space there for a colonist to just sit there and watch TV. It's a chair/space you didn't have to build that gets a dual-use.

It also puts them in a good, well visited, location for Social interactions, since others may be going there to eat or watch TV.

I tend to build a dining table/chairs, cover that area with a regular TV, and then build additional row of big comfy, well constructed, chairs in that area as when I get a bigger TV. For the largest, I still try to cover the main dining areas, just to get the chance to make use of the additional chairs.

I like to build specific rooms for TVs, I have a mod which adds in a "Rimtendo" so I always set that tv next to a megascreen so they share viewing space. Makes me happy.
