research window too small, doesnt show all researches
hi, i just bought and installed rimworld, and since i played it some time ago i immediately started with mods. around 40~. now all is working fine, except that the mods cluttered the research screen so much, there are actually researches outside the window (not to the side, but to the bottom where i cannot scroll to). one of them is necessary for electricity, so my game is kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥. is there a workaround or anyone else who encountered the same problem? and no, reducing the number of mods may be a solution, but its not a desired one.

Unless there is a mod that adds a vertical scroll to the research box, probably not. You might also try fussing with the resolution and see if anything comes of it.

Otherwise no.

is there a mod that adds a vertical scroll to the research box? ;-)

No idea. I don't use mods in a16 as yet. And only used...4? In a15. So I had no reason to look lol

I thought researched techs were in their own tab and no longer listed? You might just need to finish the easier techs to get them off the list. This is an unusual problem. The new patch they added a tech tree that scrolls but the mods havnt caught up yet.

Problem is it only scrolls sideways and not up/down, which is a really silly limitation.

Not really since there's no sense in both horizontal and vertical scrolling. It's not the problen of the game that mods clutter the research screen, and there are still lines being drawn from tech to tech if anyone can be bothered to follow them.

I will say, however, that'd it'd be easier if there were tabs such as "Furniture," "Weapons/Armor," or even "Power." But honestly, for now, there's no [real] issue with the screen as is.

It is a problem when the game allows research to go off screen, like this http://i.imgur.com/vB0yrFL.jpg I have no way of clicking what the line goes to.

I'd personally like to be able to switch between the old "list" style and the new graphical tree style for this reason.

im sure there is a way for modders to organize their tech better in an other tab
or code it that way it only adds to the right side.

Fluffy had a research tech tree window that not only scrolled horizontally and vertically but also allowed queuing. That was a few alphas ago, believe there were some problems with updating it after some changes in one of the alphas along the way. Hopefully the fact that there is now a tree in vanilla will help him either fix up the current vanilla one or re-implement his older version back into the game again.

yeah someone should make a generalized tech tree mod that "queues" all techs from different mods after another.

Not sure what you meant by '"queues" all techs from different mods after another' but what I mean is that Fluffy's tech tree mod used to allow you to set research order similar to how both Civ V And VI do it.

yeah is like what i meant.
just sort them behind the vanilla techs with a mod that autoamtic creates columns after another for new techs from mods.
yeah like in civ.

Fluffy's mod was able to completely re-organize them and setup the correct looking tree for what you needed. Though there might have been a couple techs that had notes or something weird so that it didn't get to messy with prerequisites. It's been so long, I'm not completely positive on some of the finer points anymore. Think A12 was the last time that mod was operational.

Definete need for this, any modders please take note
