What you may find challenging is acquiring enough advanced components to build the vessel.
I need a total of 80 advanced components, but that's like 30 more than necessary because I'm building two engines and two sensors ;)
Even so, advanced components take ages to manufacture, so it's a long slow haul, but I'll get there eventually.

So... I scrapped my first ship and started to build the mark II. I went for this design with 4 engines.
I now face a couple of problems.
I hadn't anticipated how gruelling the chore is to produce the required amount of advanced components. It is very slow and tedious, requiring two good craftsmen working around the clock and snapping up as many base components as I can from every bulk trader. Even the relative scarcity of uranium isn't as bad as trying to amass 90 advanced components this ship requires.
The first problem will be resolved in time, a very long and arduous time, but it will be done eventually.
The second problem however, is turning out to be a nightmare lol. That bloody AI Persona Core!
I lost mine when I scrapped the Core you see I had already built in the image above. It has been 11 more years since I first obtained it and I haven't had any more quests for another to replace it.
If I can't get hold of another by the time I've crafted 90 advanced components, I am going to be very pissed off, because it will mean starting over... sigh.

I don't caravan much at all to be honest and the nearest faction base would require a massive investment of time and resources. I'd be willing to consider that option, but only if you could assure me that that there was a strong likelihood that a tribal faction base might have an AI Persona Core for trade.
Balance issue. It will be extremly easy to collect them via trade as long as drugs still sale well :)
