Caravans go to an area and wait, will not enter the area.

As stated above. I'm forming caravans to go loot metal and components near my settlement but when they arrive, they just wait. they dont enter the land or do anything, just sit there and waste food. I've tried everything and it's getting rather infuriating.

Right click on the tile they're standing on and select enter, or something like that. I forget exactly what it says.

I had this happen to me when I added certain mods. Caravans stopped working, transport pods stopped working... Not sure which mods (I restarted my campaign a while ago) but it might be a culprit.

I left-click the caravan, then when I have it selected, I right-click it to get a pop-up menu of actions that it can take, including to enter that current camp/cell.

Are you trying to 'enter' a tile that is connected to your current colony tile? When your caravan reaches a maptile that does not have another camp/item stash already on it, you can 'enter' that maptile by selecting the 'settle' option. However, you cannot 'settle' a maptile that is adjacent to your colony, or any other camp. I do believe there is a mod called 'set up camp' or something similar that eliminates this issue. Otherwise, you'll need to move your caravan to a spot that is not adjacent to a pre-existing camp/colony.

alright, thanks guys. Just not sure what the problem is, normally they enter selected zones automatically. I just decided to settle in the areas I plan to loot.

You have to settle a tile to enter it, unless there is a mission objective there. The default game settings will not allow you to settle a second hex, you need to increase the max number of colonies slider in the game options.

very old thread but im having a similar issue where i have a quest but the caravan i sent is at the quest location and is not entering the space. Anyone know a fix?

Nevermind. I found the solution, I just wasn't right clicking on the mission location, lol
