Multi-Room Prisons?
Is there a mod out there that would enable me to streamline making multi-room prisons? As in, having prisoners get individual cells, but be able to exit their doors and enter a common room during the day without it counting as a prison break? xD

I was looking at the Locks mod, but I don't want a mod that adds another job type to the already complicated job system. I heard something about an "Improved Prisons" mod for this, but I've been unable to find it. Help please!

The locks mod is the only mod that I know that will allow you to make prison areas and it's a really good mod to play with. Atleast try it out and if you don't like the mod then maybe someone will create one that you're looking for.

From what I can tell it only adds 2 jobs which is unlocking/locking a door you designated while any other funtion you can do with the door doesn't add any jobs.

So I would imagine it would be useful without adding to much to the job system.

You could put multiple prisoners into one room with a table and chairs in it.

Two jobs is pretty silly for what should otherwise be a simple mod, there's really no need for there to be a 'specialist flicker' job to add to the priority list. No thanks.

From the description of the mod the locking feature only seems to really matter if you want to restrict traders from going into an area (or trap them) as well as having the same funtions with prisoners.

So not too sure how often you wanted to lock and unlock doors but as far as I can tell from it it seems to be pretty simple. Reminds me alot of how dwarf fortress is with how you have to lock doors in it as well.

Too much catering to prisoners needs and not enough canabalisim..... not that I haven't failed to succed for a lack of trying... at least we always have "accidental" fires.

Seeing as it's the main source of new recruitment in the game, the prison actually plays a pretty substantial role in this game. Having alternate lay outs and options isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I hope extensions updates soon, it looks like exactly what I need, with the prison doors that can separate rooms but the prisoners can still use. Hell, would be nice if someone just made a mod that only included that! That's really the only thing I need here, lol. xD

Prisoners complain and have needs but in reality, they don't need as much comfort as you think. A large room with several beds, a light source, table and chairs -- that is actually good enough. You can add beauty statues and furniture but not as necessary. there is evidence that taking care of all their needs will help with recruiting them, but I look at it as an opportunity to build up social skills, too, if they stay as a prisoner for a while.

You can simulate the various rooms by having the rooms and keeping the doors open. They will go sleep in that room, but keep in mind, if the rooms are kind of close to each other, they may still get the disturbed sleep debuff.
