::sigh!:: This damned game. Butcher table???`
This damned game is sooo flipping annoying at times. I have a fully functional butcher table with the bill set to butcher creatures FOREVER, there is more than enough room in my storage area, the storage area is allowed to store animal carcases, and my peons keep dragging the dead critters to my graveyard and burying them.

These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ benches need to tell you why they aren't being used. This butcher table is fully available, they have to run past it to get to their bunks, its set up to butcher the critters ... even my damned hunter goes and kills the critter and then hauls it to the gy!!!!!

Don't have so many graveyards dug up in preparation to bury stuff before it's needed (or at least, disable interaction with it if you do). Or if you meant graveyard as in the dumping zone that defaults to accept animal corpses, then also remove carcasses from the dumping zone, so they don't get double-hauled to that then to the butcher table later by the butchering person (the freezer is the exception since at least if the carcass is there, it won't spoil).

Alter the settings on the graveyard to not store animal corpses, also alter the priority on your dead meat storage so its higher, or drop the priority on the GY.

Set your main/refrigerated stockpile to "prefered" and just unclick "animal corpse" on all your dumping stockpiles. Doublecheck animal corpse is checked on your refridgerated stockpile. Butchered meat is under food tab, where whole animal corpse is at the bottom of the list.

Nah, I build a ton of graveyards, because I read somewhere that these bodies laying around will make your colonists sick. So I always have an open graveyard. Plus, I know crematorim is range dependent so I have graveyards in case the crematorium is too far away.

No?

Dude, that was the point of my rant! And yes, I realize it was a rant, I was pissedf.

I know its a "me issue" ... but it shouldn't be so hard to understand why they aren't using it! Instead of being so quick to blow me off, read what I said. :(

Why do you have a graveyard? They using it because you have graves marked for animial corpses, that are higher priority... I make graves as needed, and with carnivores you don't need to burry raiders just put off out of the way and let either wild critters eat them or put cooler for them near you barn for your own to eat them...

Dead bodies dont make your pawns sick. it does cause a mood drop for seeing a decomposing body or a dead body.

If you set the gy stockpile to alow just human corpses it should be fine. make another stockpile near the buther table (it has a working range too, look in the bills details) for the dead animals it should be fine. Also dont forget to have a cook to work on it. (you can also rightclick with a cooking pawn on the table to force it to bucher. if it sais somthing along the lines no materials then the dead animals are to far away)

Anither free tip, keep the buchter table out of the kitchen. pawn get food potisoning from meal prepeared in dirty kitchens. and the butcher table is a dirt generator. good spot would be a larger airlock befor the freezer/cooler as dirt has no effect on storage)

Thank all ... thanks liosalpha.

Alot of replys about graveyards and stockpiles. Assuming that isnt an issue anymore.
To the Butchertable. With out using a sepreate mod for it, Butchering and Cooking are the same job. And cooking takes priority over butchering. So IF your cook is busie prepareing food then he/she will not do any butchering. You can: Set 2 people to cook, so one will have to butcher when the stove is in use. Pause your cooking untill you have the corpses you need butcherd. Or force your cook to work at the butchering table temporarrialy. Note that if you have something else like kibble higher than butchering, that will be done first.

I reccomend using : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=954681728&searchtext=butcher
