How to treat toxic buildup?
Is there a drug that can counter it?

Just make sure your colonist/animals stay under a roof for an extended period of time so the toxic buildup recedes.

Don't let it go up too much, there can be long term consequences. Like cancer...

Yeah with the toxic fallout you have to manage your colonists under roofs, make a special zone that has roofed areas for your colonists. Expand the roofs if needed. There's a toggle on the bottom right of the screen which shows the roofed areas, use that to get the zones perfected.

They will naturally recover when outside of the fallout and indoors but it takes a bit of time.
The biggest issue is looking after the animals, they will start to die off really quick.

It's safe to be out in the fallout for a few days but anymore than that and you run risks to the colonist health.
