End Game Goals
So there are a few ways to end the game, I suppose (shipbuilding, ship-finding quest, death), and maybe that will expand as the game is continually developed. I'm curious though- what other goals do people develop to try and reach, not just in play-style, but as "endings" to their campaign. Like at what point do you say, "Yeah- I was successful and I'm done with this run-though" other than the items above? What goals do people set for themselves to reach?

For me its building a metropolis, but its a vauge goal.
Ad the point where i have every one i need i start to accept every one i can get (unless they are to disruptive like phyromaniacs or hard drug junkies ect) try to get every one happy and see to good rooms and facilities. I dont intent on leaving, im starting a new sanctuarie.

but the game usely ends in a total death or in such chaos that is becomes barely playble. so its more a "how long can you last" goal.

Still being newer to the game, I imagine the difficulty of "Story" events keeps aming up, until you have things like 50 high-powered raiders hitting you at once?

yea, and wealth ads to the raids strength too. but the raiders are not the bighest thead. those mechanoid can realy hurt and yes they can come in large groups too.

1. ally with all fractions on the planet and get rid of pirates

2. do quests that ally different fractions with each other

3. unite all towns and colonies to one nation

4. grow the rimworld to a urbanworld, sending out ships and trade between planets

The goal is to "escape the rimworld you crashlanded on", right? You can leave the planet on your own ship or a friends ship at this point. I say we escape the rimworld by making it a non-rimworld

Do you have a source for that?

Are all of those things options that exist in-game right now? o.O

I try to make a new faction. I've never really done it before thou cause I always end up Dying. The one I'm building now is my best one so far.

How does that work?

Multiple colonies and stuff, or...?

Wealth is the primary factor in raid strength, that also takes into account the value of colonists. So adding more colonists also intrinsically adds to colony value as well.

Don't have an actual quoted source other than a couple years of reading that on the forums. I am pretty sure Tynan himself has stated that in some of those threads.

wipe out all other factions and rule the world!!!
but i havnt been able to do that yet, i tend to start tribal with a massive extra research penalty so it takes 10+ years to even get elektricity

no

" I suppose and maybe that will expand as the game is continually developed"
you asked for options and possible option that could come

Ahh, I see. I had meant options using the current in-game system and features, but it's also a lot of fun to discuss how the game could be developed moving forward! It's a very creative community!

You only need to look at the dev console to see that's how it works, because you can trigger raids of specific wealth values for testing.

Yeah I've had two colonies before and its difficult and your bases other then the one your watching need to be able to run by them self without u baby sitting them. They need good defenses so they can defend themselves against raids by them selves and be able to make food and do all the other jobs u give them.
