Animals getting drunk
I know, the first thing people are gonna say to this is, "Set a zone where they cannot get into it." I want to start off with that, to avoid confusion.

I have set ALL of my animal zones, to go where there are no drugs or alcohol, yet some how, they are getting drunk. I can follow them around, and nothing happens, and the next thing I know, they're passed out drunk and my people are feeding them MEALS! I am going crazy, over this. Can someone PLEASE tell me what is happening and how to stop this?

Without a mod? Immure your drugs behind a wall.

So you aren't saying which animals are doing this which makes it abit harder to say what you do wrong.

But basically, this happens because you lack proper food for them.

For grass eating animals they will always first eat grass/hay/kibble within their zone.

Usually its the meat eaters like dogs/wolves etc that causes the problem because the only proper food the game recognizes is kibble.
As soon as there is no kibble within their zone, they will look for secondary food sources.
Secondary food sources consist of meat (any kind)/meals/alcohol and drugs.
But meat and meals are not prioritized over alcohol and drugs, which is why they go to the closest source when they want food.

And yes this is actually how it works as i've never had any problems with animals doing alcohol or drugs despite having them stored with everything else.
The few times it has happened, it has been because my pawns for one reason or another has not had time/ been to injured to make kibble.

Offcourse if you don't have enough meat to make kibble, the only way to avoid this happening is to store beer and drugs far away from any animals so that meals/freezer is always closest.

PS. I haven't tested wether Pemmican is considered primary or secondary food source.

Nope. There is a special animal job "find some random stuff and eat it". It has nothing to do with nutrition. Most drugs (except alcohol) don't even have nutrition value.

If you set an animal area and put the animals there, they will literally die of starvation if you let it.

Yep. But they will do wander off to get some drugs.

Nope, that doesn't happen aslong as you got kibble.
And as i mentioned, the game doesn't differensiate between meals and drugs when they try to find a random secondary source, despite drugs not having any nutrition, while meals does.

As i said, i don't suffer these problems like everyone else seems to do, and the few times it happens its because i was out of kibble.

I'd better believe decompiled source.

I'll have to make sure, I don't run out of kibble, then. Either that, or just not bother with animals.

Just mame sure you keep your pet Thrumbos away from Luci. You don't want to see that kind of carnage.
