could be you've got a gap in a wall, the area is to large ( and thus the roof has collapsed somewhere ) or you've got a vent somewhere bad.
short of that, start checking mods.
yup, that'd do it, lol.
perhaps one of the more experienced peoples here can elaborate on the exact limits for wall seperation that still allows roofing ??
definately too large on the room. a coolor will do a room about 5 x 5 down to -10c np's, but if you build it bigger it starts to stuggle by itself. If you had a room with 3 in it and it was still struggling, yeah theres your problem.
best way to handle food storage iv'e found is to have seperate rooms for the seperate types of food based on how quickly the rot. ie : corn / rice etc all store at room temps reasonably well, save your "fridge" space for raw meats, and prepared meals. Keep in mind certain things take ages to to rot or are non perishable ( survival meals for example ).
When you have the stockpile selected there is a tab near the bottom left window you can use. You can change what is allowed / disallowed, use that to make your rooms more specific for food management.
and yes, this is all based on vanilla game btw, yes i know theres mods, i just prefer the challenge from vanilla :D.
Just because it is set as a "roofed zone" doesn't mean it is actually roofed. Instead, look in the lower right, one of the icons is a toggle to see what tiles are ACTUALLY roofed. Dark green tiles have overhead mountain roofs, light green tiles have either thin roofs or constructed roofs.
We've discovered from a post about a week or two ago that there is actually a size limit to rooms that makes them become labeled as outdoors. I don't know the exact size though. Someone that remembers the post may know if they comment.
I don't feel like searching for that thread, but I was a part of it and IIRC, I think it was determined that any 'room' that is bigger than 1000 tiles is labeled as outside now. This was done b/c people had discovered a 'cheat' of some sort a while back to maximize room beauty w/o having to install more than a handful of 'beauty' items, or something along those lines.
Also, roofs can extend up to 6 tiles from a wall, so in order to avoid gaps w/o having to use supports, walls cannot be more than 12 tiles away from each other.
12x(any number) should be fine as well. Apparently up to around 1000 tiles as mentioned in a couple posts above.
Best thing for posts like these would be to include a screenshot with the question. We are all really thowing darts blind-folded without a pic.
