Will another turret 3 spaces diagonal away be safe ?

One you can test this out for yourself if you aren't sure

I think it's 2-3 tiles alway from the turret?

3 should be fine. If you build a stone wall between turrets, you can place a turret every other tile along a straight line.

Having walls and/or doors between turrets is always a good idea, just so you don't get achain of turrets exploding all in a few seconds.

Was messing around and did a grid. The turrets were seperated by 3 empty spaces horizontally and vertically, and only 1 space diagonally. The diagonally placed turrets caused the whole field to explode. It was a great way to end a mech raid.
Sounds fun =D I didnt realize turrets were so volatile. I lost 9 of them placed in an X formation. Pretty much killed my Cass extreme permadeath run.

Its great that they explode. Thier destruction (which will happen, they have too little hp) is a great way to help thin out those melee tribals.
Im playing Cass extreme permadeath. The component loss is a game ender =(

I play peek-a-boo with tribals from behind granite walls and doors. Its the pirate sappers which are trouble, especialy when 2 of my four colonists refuse to take arms, and the other two are left with a bolty and a hand gun.

(I do love bolties =D )

You guys might also consider plasteel turrets if you have extra lying about. They have 280 hp and my current bullet labyrinth can handle mech raids completely unsupported by colonists.

EDIT: It's only Randy Intense though, I realize he has a cap of sorts.

Thats alot of plasteel..... But i guess its not as hard to come by as components....

It's not a full plasteel turret. There's nothing in the game to tell you that I realize, but a plasteel turret is actually 100 steel, only 75 plasteel and 3 components.

I do go for plasteel once Im established. Im just trying to get a foothold on the hardest level. So far its proving difficult.

You mean, extreme? *cue sighs*
Lol, I see what you did there.
