You can do that? How?
You may be able to edit the save file, but I am not sure of the exact things you'd need to find/change in there to get that accomplished.
It seems like each biome with have certain things it hits pretty hard, in some southern temperate forest you get heat waves like crazy, in northern you get hard winters, other randomness may make thunderstorms what is likely going to kill you.
I would recommend focusing on protecting yourself from the fire risk, and if a bolt 1-shots an animal or colonist, next man up. Restarting the game or modding because you aren't winning because of randomness will generate an endless early playthrough, as you move into the mid-game it is a blessed colony that hasn't lost many valuable members.
Given I play perma-death, you can really see how one random event doesn't kill you, it incapacitates someone and maybe they do a critical job and you don't recognize that everything is going to crap soon enough and it spirals. That's sort of the challenge, thrill, and heartbreak of the game for me, the endless feeling that something i am going to do it going to set me down this downward spiral of trying to survive a hard winter, my crop stockpile burning, and my hunter going AWOL on a abrosia binge, or something equally dangerous due to the accumulation of bad RNG events that isn't going to kill you now, but easily could down the road..
My current play-through I had all 3 of my colonists incapacitated, then hours before one starved they woke up, ate, fed everyone else, and a caravan with a sack of meds came by. I also had a pet boomrat turn manhunter inside the base and blow things up. Survived a toxic fallout and volcanic winter running through the mentioned meds and having no herbals either because that kind of winter basically wastes all life on the map. Anyway, dealing with the compounded RNG events is sort of the masochistic challenge of the game.
Thunderstorms are a mild nuicanse, atleast on some challenge/rough difficulty. (Not sure if it gets any worse on higher difficulty)
As soon as it starts just put a home zone over every place it starts burning.
Have everyone fight fire as number 1 priority.
And thats it. Disaster averted.
Its however a nuicanse cause it takes alot of time, as you need to do it until it rains.
ThunderStorms ain't OP.... On Extreme Desert...
Razors will drop down as it rains, it's extremely lethal.
