Ate without table, nut they have a table and chairs?
I have one small square table in the kitchen area with 4 chairs around it. I see people use it to eat but when I look at their 'needs' i have a minus score telling me they ate without table. What am I doing wrong. I have no mods.

They will pocket food and take it with them to work. When they get hungry they will eat even if no table is near, hence the debuff. Plenty of ways to offset that small debuf so not that big of a deal.

I have the More Furniture mod, so workshop, farm, etc all get a little stool and 1x1 table just to give them some place to go. It doesn't always work, but it helps.

Funny though, after slaughtering a raid most folks will stand around in the corpse field and have a snack...

I build tables everywhere. Pawns will cut thier grandmothers throat, kick puppies and tie kittins tails together and laugh, all because they dont have a darn table to eat at.

@OP

Its just the way it is now...

AI needs a find and use table buff.

Usually they find the main dining...but recently I have noticed quite a few ate without tables...its not a major issue later on and can be mostly ignored.

I spent some time watching them eat without them and tried to intelligently add tables around the areas they seemed needed...for my efforts, 1 of the 4 extra tables was ever used enough to be worth it.

I even started putting a table by their work areas if I was building a wall or something away from the inner base...but they just sat there 10 tiles away and ignored them.

or devs should implement MRE in game.

>hunter going to hunt, on halfway stopped cuz got hungry.
"Uh Oh i am so sad i ate on ground. can you make chair and table in this forest for me"

I'd be happy to be able to choose what they can and cant carry so far as drugs and meals.

And have tables show an effect radius, so if anyone within that radius is hungry and about to eat they WILL go there and eat.

I dont mind making extra tables, but it really annoys me when they simply ignore them when I do.

One or two tables in the diner room,
one in each bedroom (I don't care for the possible disturb sleep)
and one outside. Done.

They still eat without table?
Who cares, it is a -3.
And If they eat a fine meal they still have +2 from eating.

Well I tried a double bed bedroom for everyone, then to make them lice I added a light, statue, plant, small table and chair.. But then creepy dudes would go and eat rheir food that the table in some elses bedroom while that person slept.
That makes me think room ownership needs to be a thing, not just bed ownership. IE, all furniture in the room is reserved to only those people with assigned beds in it.

Simple uncheck Gather Spot on the table. Problem solved. Other thing to keep in mind, dont put any Art (furniture can have Art on it too) in a private room. Pawns will go in and view it.

Double bed is just a waste of wood, space and work if this is just for one person.
They give the same bonus in beauty, confort and rest.
This is just useful when they are in couple or if you want to force them
to sleep in the bed (you creepy! :p)

Yeah, DEV's need to fix this, this is a serious bug that makes having any dinning hall useless...MEAL TIMES exist in all forms of society and history, even indians had set meal times. This game needs to add Meal time into the scheduling menu....no reason having control over recreation and not having meal time is a massive flaw and needs fixed....without a set meal time this will always make having any set area to gather for meals useless, making a (based on real) kitchen useless, at this point i might as well dev mode and add packaged survival meals and remove anything that revolves around the dinning hall and tables....and for everyone out there to correct you....Every pawn in my colony refuse to use tables and yes this is refusal and nothing else....every other pawn not belong to my colony will barge right into my dinning hall sit and eat all together, they will refuse to eat anywhere else on my map....so yes this is colony specific pawns bug that makes the games food system pointless atm as a colony sandbox management game since you cant actually manage their need to eat at a table (since this should be auto, a table with or without chair should auto force pawns to eat their no matter what, or it just needs to not impact their mood at all because this is pawn choice to eat without table and should not ♥♥♥♥♥ about their choice)......DONT ADD NEEDS TO MANAGE THAT YOU DONT PUT CONTROLS IN THE GAME TO MANAGE i.e. MEAL TIME IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN RECREATION TIME. we are not kindergarteners recreation time shouldn't even be on the schedule because in the real world rec time is your ANYTHING time.
