double click animals to highlight all of their type, it does vary a little with some species coming up as Various not their species name in the info. Trees don't double click, use the Cut Plants/Harvest Trees or whatever you need tool in the Orders menu and you can paint (drag) over areas with it to select them for that order to apply to them.

Double clicking on trees does not work. Double clicking only works on movable things (or something like that). You can <shift>+<LClick> to select multiple things across all types.

As above said. with tree you need to choose what you want done, like cut, and then mouse drag the area you want it to effect.

With stone chunks you can double click one of that type, limestone for example, and it will select all limestone chunks on the screen. Zoom in/out to adjust if you need to.

Can do the same with animals. Double click on a hare, and it will select all of them on the screen.

double clicking works on wall blueprints or any other blueprint too. I forbid blueprints so my pawns can focus emergency tasks.
