Lavish meal .
I got very much food like potatoes , corn , rice and strawberry . I only do lavish meals but I really don't need that 10+ in the mood because almost all of my people are married with each other . The problem is the meat , because my animals aren't ready to be killed and I always run out of meat . Then , i'm going to solve this problem : doing only fine meals . Do you think it's going to be a good choice ?

I do only fine meal and I don't have any problem.
They are faster to cook and waste less food.
I find lavish a waste of time and food. (food, I don't care, but time, I do)

yeah, i usually always do fine meals just because you never know when a blight or coldsnap comes and kills all the crops and animals making you have nothing but 3 lavish meals when you could have had 200 fine ones

Thanks !

A other thing good to know:
you can have the bonus of the fine meal AND the lavish at the same time.

So I keep feeding them on fine meal and if someone got the mood a little
too low, I made a lavish meal... so they got 5+10 = 15 mood bonus.

Fine meals always, espically on biomes that spawns less animals.

Incase your people do get upset like a divorce just put them on smokeleaf, beer or yayo.

Never just dole out yayo unless it's someone that's already an addict, lol...

Also re: what Brassqund said, fine meals actually don't waste any food. They use the same amount of nutrition as simple meals and actually give more cooked nutrition. You use 0.5 nutrition of raw food and get 0.9 nutrition of cooked food out of it. Only lavish meals truly waste food.

But the yayo buff.... like comon 30+ mood is way to good.

Also if you get kidney problems because of yayo you can just easily harvest prisoners and plant them into a coloniest.

For me, i never use the lavish meal, i think they are bad balanced, i think they need to change it, by example, for the normal food they can ask 5 of a think,(meat, vegetable or animal product), for the fine meal it's good like this, 5 meat and 5 vegetable or animal product, but for the lavish meal perharps it's can be better to ask 3 different thing, 5 meat, 5 vegetable and 5 animal product,

like this the people work with the 3 thing if they want the lavish meal and it's ask a good balance of thing they follow the other meal,

so, if you are poor in food, you use meat or vegetable, if you have 2 differente ressource of food you can make a normal plate of food, and usually, when you are well established, usually you have meat you take from hunting or animal, a garden for the vegetable and the product from your animal in your farm, eggs, milk, ect...,

such as it is for now, it's ask too much of the same ressource, and neer no one use the lavish meal in the game...

The chance of addiction with yayo and flake is so high though... Even on the first use they can get instantly addicted. Then as you keep giving it to them to feed their addiction they will build a large tolerance to it and you'll be forced to manufacture craptons of the stuff for no real benefit. That or force them to go cold turkey and spend the better part of an in-game year dealing with their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ moods and mental breaks until the withdrawal wears off.

Way easier to just give them nice environments, beer and weed, climate control and good bedrooms.

Even smokeleaf can ♥♥♥♥ you up lol, I've got a colonist at the moment who got lung cancer and asthma just from smoking too much. That said, that only happened because of his chemical interest. For the others I limit their intake enough to prevent that.

Yayo is extremely useful for combat, someone is hungry? Oh im going to go on a mental break because im hungry, depressed sleepy, and have been rebuffed by someone for the 5th time so when im drafted Ima just hide in my room.

The 30+ mood buff is sooooooo helpful so your coloniest can stay in fights longer without breaking, also the suppressed pain helps alot.

Addiction I can deal with easily since I can produce so much yayo.
Nishe Jan 22, 2017 @ 6:08am
Whether or not you can "deal" with addiction, the main problem it presents is the tolerance to the drug. At max tolerance all those benefits you just listed become hardly noticeable, and sometimes with an addict the benefits will not even "activate" when it's taken, and the dose does nothing but fill their need, requiring a second dose for the minimal benefit you'll get due to the tolerance. Go juice is exponentially better for combat, and not as addictive. As you can see here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/56489p/taking_drugs_safely/
it can be used every 3 days with no risk of addiction.

Regarding the mood buff, idk, maybe you just aren't managing their mood well before it gets to that point, but I never need to give them yayo to avoid a break. If they've got a lot of debuffs stacking just give them a beer, a joint, or both; some extra joy hours and if you really need to you can stack the fine meal and lavish meal buffs like someone mentioned above. With A16 they also get buffs for eating in an impressive dining room, doing joy in an impressive rec room, and having an impressive bedroom, so keeping mood up is a piece of cake.

My goal is the finding the ship to escape the planet so I don't always have the nice eating in good dinning room buff.

When everyone is hungry and tired ready for the night and a bunch of mechanoids drop down I need my soldiers to be happy 24/7 prepared to fight the entire night.
