pets keep dying!!
I had about 12 cats (dont ask why, I always like to collect animals). I was expanding my base so I had a wall destroyed to put a door into it. As luck would have it, a timberwolf made his way into my base and started attacking all my cats! I killed him but my cats were all bleeding out. However, they werent "In need of rescue.". So all i could do is watch my cats die off one by one. (One was bleeding at 317%!). Did I do something wrong or is there really no way to save my poor kitties??

Make sure to have enough animal sleeping spots/beds and they will go lay down when injured so you can treat them.

Had a timber wolf kill my colony's pet cat just yesterday. Needless to say, I put the wolf down and fed it to my colonists for its transgressions against feline kind.

If you want to hang on to your small animals and don't yet have a fully walled compound, it's a good idea to eliminate carnivores as they appear. The Wildlife Tab mod or Colony Manager make this possible without having to manually search the area for them.

You can order an operation done on any of your tamed animals (regardless if they need rescue or not) and any assigned doctor will carry them to the nearest available animal spot/bed.

Just pick any operation and cancel it once they're on the bed so you can treat em. I find that dogs'll usually rest up when they have injuries, but it doesn't apply to all animals it seems.. so the operation trick should be helpful.

The timberwolf probably did you a favor! Lesson learned? Tame cooler animals....

Btw if you check the filth rate on your animals you'll see that pet cats have 0 filth rate, which makes them excellent for keeping indoors. No need to watch them get attacked by manhunters outside the colony.

Yep, keep small animals indoors if you don't want to see, how Only God Knows How He Got There predator eats your pets. One time a RED FOX almost eaten one of my colonists that way (can't do violent and also a wimp, got downed from two hits :( ).
