Why did my ostrich eggs hatch wild?
I have bought fertilized chicken eggs and emu eggs and turtle eggs from traders, and they have hatched into nice tamed chicks and babyemus and turtlings. But when I bought Ostrich eggs, they hatched into wild baby ostriches, which are almost untamable.
Why did that happen? Is it WAD?
Does that happen with other species? eg. cobras
Thanks!

When the traders drop the eggs, did they were in your "home zone"?
When making them hatch, did the eggs was in your "home zone"?
When outside of the home zone, the little one are always wild.

The OP, say he actually buy some chicken/turtles/emue... and
they hatch tamed. I am not sure why or how that actually work exactly.
Home zone seem a factor. Parent seem to change something too.
Kids get the zone and other stuff from their parents....
but when you buying them? I have no idea how that work.
That would need some testing...
I am sure of nothing on this subject ^^'

Maybe I could mod the time needed to hatch eggs so I can test that quickly...
But that wouldn't be for now, I need some sleep XD

maybe if u own the species it will come tamed and if not owned comes wild? guess easy to test just dev mode in animals and eggs in a heap of combinations and see what happens

In all my cases, they were in home, and in fact in a barn.

(My first batch got put into the fridge and were ruined, but I changed the storage settings to send fertilized eggs to the barn afterward.)

Barn was roofed and temperature controlled, so I believe all fert. eggs hatched perfectly. (There is no message, so my first clue was tiny animals entering my field of vision.)

While preparing to hatch, the eggs will report %age progress on the tooltip.

Thanks all.
