I don't like that black panthers attack without a notice...
The game just tells me a colonist needs treatment and I'm like wtf? So of course a d-nozzle panther just ups and decides to attack a colonist. No "manhunter" warning or anything. I got the guns, I'm just going to kill every bugged game mechanic panther I see. It's not that I have a hard time handling it, it's that it's brought up in a way that is not rimworldy.

And....would this happen then if I had animals going crazy disabled?
prime Mar 25, 2017 @ 7:37pm
they are predatory animals, they may attack wo notice like bears and wolves and wargs etc
BoxingBud Mar 25, 2017 @ 7:41pm
No problem that they get all triggered and have to hurt someone, but THE GAME doesn' tell me. It's just "Joe blow needs medical attention". No he doesn't. He's getting attacked by a predatory animal and needs it dead.
BoxingBud Mar 25, 2017 @ 7:41pm
Sure he needs medical attention after but I think the severity of what happened is underplayed. Should be a notice like a regular animal gone mad.
Some of thee predatory animals like bears cougars or Panthers will attack if they're hungry and find a pawn by itself

It states in their description they might. Its something you need to worry about

they didnt go manhunter, they just went hungry
so they hunt, and when there are no other prey animals humans look tasty
its why going into the wild is dangerous
you should pay attention while your colonists go outside of your perimiter

@kawaii also wolves, wolves are dangerous, the rest of the pack goes agressive when you hurt the one thats hunting your colonist down

Just do as I do.
Check around time to time and when there is some predators, draft
some people and kill all of them. Problem solve.

I might check the mod out but otherwise I just geared up and killed them, built a wall around the main living area anyway, lots of ground and even more defense against raiders to boot. The panther wasn't hungry either I looked at all of that. It really just upped and attacked a passing colonist. Like I expected stuff like this to happen. Just not such a casual notice. If the game is going to freak out over a rat having a bad day and deciding to attack one of my colonists it's going to do the same for a panther.

And I think it's the forced slow motion that annoys me. Sure go into slower speeds at the onset but I want to immediately be able to go fast forward once I'm viewing what's going on. Is there a mod for that?

imagine playing 5 different colonies too
SquareDildo Mar 26, 2017 @ 2:52am
Workaround: give them a gun, set threat response to 'fight' and press space as soon as you hear a gunshot.

Workaround 2: assign a battle-worthy pet as a guardian.

Not that a warning about a panther would help you. They're much faster !
