How to disable events?
If I never want random (unrejectable) colonists joining, how do I do that? I looked. I also remember this being discussed. But I haven't found the UI for it.

Same here. You want to disable space pod events? Im beginning to think you can only edit the events that show up in your game before you start it, unless you use notepad or something to edit the save.

Make a game, when you have to choose between tribal and the other one,
press the custom scenario. You can desactivated them there.

Custom->Edit->AddSomething->Add Part-> WHAT GOES HERE?

I looked at all the parts and none of them looked like a way to disable random colonists joining.

Is it "Arrival method==Drop Pods" ? Does that force incoming to be injured and needing help, so you can ignore them to let them die? Or is there another way?

I let useless people join me. Just euthanise them and harvest their organs.

You guys are too sentimental. Just send them to go punch a bear and get mauled to death if they're sucky. A -3 debuff for your people for a few days and then everyone forgets about it. No need to get all teary-eyed over a fake video game character that you've known for 5 seconds who would likely burn down your colony at the first chance they got.

It beats disabling the event entirely. At least by leaving it enabled, you have a chance of getting decent colonists. Disabling the event just ruins that.

I understand the logic.

But I really do enjoy how attached I get to the characters. If I played like you do, the game would start to feel more like a spreadsheet to me, and as it is, this is the more immersive choice for me. Your mileage may vary.

Also I have played Banished and that game gave me the choice to reject new people, so some of the same expectation drives this for me.

There is a lot of people who expect that feature to be add.

There is a mod for that but I didn't try it.
