It's honestly so damn good, the only downside is their carry limit is reduced to 20 from 75 (hence my little bit about "rock" hauling rather than normal) although I'm planning on testing a dual Power Claw adjustment on the same colonist. It sacrifices around 7dps but affords maintaining 92% manipulation instead of 20%.
Naah, I've got plenty of miniguns and charge rifles, as well as use of MAIs from Miscellaneous MAI, who give no ♥♥♥♥♥ about losing a limb or two since they just sleep and repair themselves lol
they have. but they can recruit other tribers faster.
pLasteel Longsword is the best. Legendary one got 18dps or so.
If taking (relatively intact) people alive is your jam, then a Jade Mace is the best thing to use, although due to the scarcity of Jade, Uranium works almost as well (140% melee damage modifier vs. 150% in Jade).
The literal best melee weapon in the game is a Scyther Blade, at a clear 20dps. No vanilla weapon surpasses it, but being a Mechanoid weapon it is both potentially difficult for someone to acquire as well as designed to simply kill with ruthless efficiency.
Elephants, rhinos or megas if on a budget.
Risking pawns in melee is silly.
There isn't much risk per se to using pawns in melee, not compared to other things. In saying that, I am working on an army of wild boars, but that's a different story.
