Scyther blades
In order to use them, do I need to un-equip my colonists?

I tried this and they were only inflicting bruises and such since they're using their fists.

If they have a weapon, they will use it over the scyther blades. So yeah, unequip their weapon.

Just be aware that the blades reduce a colonists Manipulation, so they'll be crap at any task that uses their hands, except slicing people into tiny pieces.

They are also really dangerous in social fight.

Yeah, or hauling.

Bionic super soldiers make good haulers, especially with some legs and internal organs (if using EPOE). They become very fast, like 200%+ fast.

If using EPOE you can craft advanced power arms (power arms + scyther blades IIRC) which make a high damage first as well as increasing manipulation. My last game had fully bionic colony with my melee guys having 215% manipulation, 160% sight, 215% moving speed, 30 base damage, etc. Fleeing raiders? Nope - chase them down and cut them ribbons. Centipedes? Nope - one EMP to disable them and these guys would beat them down in melee.

Pretty bad ass :)

dont use EPOE feel makes anything easily fixable. so to me they are basd haulers with the bad manipulation

I've never gone the Blades route but have always wondered if Power Arms increase carry capacity making them super-haulers as well as hard hitters!
