Random Explosions?
Okay, so half of my compound/house just burnt down because an random explosion happaned in my armory, causing the room to heat up to 1455C. No one could go in and rescue 4 of my guys, who died trying to get out. one of them died from heatstroke. Initially I thought it was a overload of electrcity or something, to find there are no cables or batteries or any that could of caused this. There werent any dry storms at the time. Can anyone make any deductions?

You sure it wasn't a Pyromaniac getting a bit grumpy?

Artillery shells in there? I think grenades will explode if damaged enough as well. But what triggered them who knows. If it happens again you got problems.

There were artillery shells, but I have a seperate room for them knowing that they can explode.

I dont have any people with the pyromaniac trait, and nobody got triggered in the armory (Everyone had joywires)

I think Circuits or Batteries or Lamps (One of those...) can randomly explode (for no reason) and make fire/explosions which get larger as more current flows through them.

Screen shots would be awesome, while you said there have been no batteries or cables inside of that room, cables inside your walls are still able to "bzzzt" stuff 1 tile next to them.

There was nothing electrical in the armory

Again, nothing electical was in the room, and sos, didnt take screenshots because as I said, initially I though it was some sort of electrical explosion.

We still may be able to help if you could post a picture from that room, doesn't need to be on fire.. but maybe you missed something.

We only know what you're telling us, but seeing does give us alot more chances to find the source.

a pryo would have given a nofication warning, however heres the issue NOTHING goes KABOOM for no reason. So a fire broke out rising the temp to 1k at that point you should have just tried to vent the room by opening it up. Allowing for colonists to get in there.

go back to a save before the fire if the 2k17 armory
and screenshot it

Are you sure the fire started in the armory? Also any cables running by the armory?
Whats the room walls made of how close are things to each other are they in a stockpile or racks? Are you in a cave or in an outside room?

Answering these questions above will be helpful

I just want to clarify to make sure you are not overlooking something. You'r e not undersiege? Do you have boomrats of your own? Is your base walled where wild boomrats can't get in? If you don't have boomrats is it possible you acquired 1 that was self tamed and didn't have a specific area for it?

had that happen to my growing room (still dunno what caused it, probably tom... damn crazy pyros) thank the lord for granite walls

Trapped exhaust air slowly heating up the room, or adjacent room, causing mortar shells or grenades in the armory to explode, perhaps?

Regardless, half your base engulfed in fire and four of your people dying horribly because of an architectural oversight was a hilarious read. It's why I love this game. Thanks for sharing!
