What where your colonist killed by?
In rimworld, many things can destroy your early conlony, and some unstoppable things can take your hard made colony and shread it to bits.
Post your funniest, dumbest, weirdest, or stupidest way you failed protecting and keeping your colony alive, provide a few details like if you were raided by 10 people or everyone went mentally insane.
I said funniest, dumbest, weirdest, and stupidest ways so basic starvation does not count, only if you had grown a ton of farms with wide space and waited until they grew but still starved after.
I did not say too many things specifically because I am still getting used to the game and its names of animals and insects.

A squirrel went mad. Not a big problem, they are rather week. So I sent the nearest colonist to go deal with it. Somehow in the fight the squirrel managed to bite of one of his fingers. A less than ideal outcome, but not the end of the world. The hand then got infected. Drat, that’s annoying, but good thing I have meds. Raiders came, broke into my storehouse. One of them had a flame launcher. He started a small fire. The fire was put out quickly, but I lost a few things, namely a good chunk of my meds. As other people had more serious injuries, Squirrel man did not get the meds. Most of the time a minor infection can be cured without intervention. This was not one of those times. In desperation, I ordered my doctor to amputate the arm. The surgery failed, and he died.
I lost a colonist because he flipped off a squirrel.

Having your pawns run into gunfire from thier own side. It never gets less annoying. Still pretty funny to see my one coward get thier head blown off for running thru a firefight.

There was the one time that friendlies came to help with two manhunting muffalo. An hour of in game time later my 3 colonists are dead with bullets to the brain caused by those friendlies. Though, karma got them as the two muffalo killed all the friendlies after my colonists' deaths.

A colonist instantly killed because a turret shot her in the head by accident.

a fat POS colonist by name of Beth went on a eating binge and went into full meltdown when she ran out of food. This cow took out my best builder and farmer.

My Oaf, Bit, went out on a dark stormy night to burn the corpses of the last raid in the corpse room. He threw a molotov, and unfortunately suffered a heart attack whilst in the doorway. The bodies, catching fire, made that room very, very hot. He started to get blisters while suffering a painful heart attack. Then the doctor finally got to him, got him extremely close to the base entrance, and he passed away from the heart attack.

He was surprisingly the only person I lost with my first playthrough of Rimworld. Everyone else made it off the planet. Rip in ripperoni, Bit.

a big raid wounded 4 out of 5 colonists.. thankfully the one person able to walk happens to be the doctor and he managed to scare away the rest of the attackers. right after dragging the wounded to the hospital room a big pack of terrorist boomrats appeared, and my medicine is stored in another building so the doc had to go outside to fetch it and he got blown up. i watched everybody slowly bleed to death

thanks randy

I sent my hunter to get some desperatly needed food, the target was one of 10 i think deer... well, deer get hit, pack becomes manhunters and slaughter the hunter and 2 others, my last surviving colonist eventually goes insane because he has no food and starts fires, wich ofc spreads all over and kills him.

Atleast i learned to draft 2-3 people when killing animals in packs and use hunt on lone animals only.

A squirrel bit my colonist, I was like: "Well, nothing special here", didn't even tend it, later the colonist developed an infection and I didn't save him in time"

Have you ever got your head smashed by muffalo that you try to capture? Well I had that situation. He had 16 handling skill.

was using the zombieland mod, and an insect hive spawned inside an ancient danger. turns out they will go out in groups across the map hunting after awhile. nothing like 40 bugs rushing your base of 4 people...
