so i set the nigtowls to slee 10 to 12 and anything the rest of the day and the normal pawns to sleep at 22:00 to midnight that way they might wake up early and do random stuff if they *feel* like it this has never been leading to truble.
this way they get to do joy when they need it instead of when forced to it. this also means that if there was a raid and i had to wake them up they might sleep a bit longer then normal.
It depends on several factors. If your beds are very high qualilty, pawns will be rested after just 5-6 hours of sleep. This is going to make it impossible to keep a Night Owl in bed during all daylight hours so they'll be grumpy occasionally. It's no major problem though, as the extra comfort from quality beds will help offset any negative mood modifiers.
there lets see if you get up now
I made it this way mainly so that any social rivalry can be split into 2 groups. If you haven't guessed it, yes, I force non-nightowls into a night schedule if they got a problem with too many of the other colonists. In theory, the night folks can still chat with day folks (risking an insult debuff) during breakfast and supper. But once they're done eating they're off to work instead of sitting at the table gossiping.
Having more around at night allows genuine nightowls to have someone to chat. This schedule also allows day folks the option of star gazing.
