Savannah the hottest biome?
Just wondering. I know that deserts can get very cold, but I usually find the deserts around the equator to be colder than the savannahs. Extreme deserts are even colder.

Is that a thing? Are savannahs actually hotter?

Sand has very poor heat retention.

You mean Arid Shrubland?

It's just weird that people are dying in the savannah within a day, while they are doing better in a dry desert. I just can't picture it.

Could be. I'm using the german translation, so things might get confusing.

I assume Savannah is Arid Shrubland. It's more or less what it is, large plains with some spots of dense vegetation and lots of animal diversity.

I think extreme desert is the hottest biome in general, but it depends where on the globe the biome is placed. Since the spherical world was introduced, there seems to a lot more variety in biome conditions.

Remember there's a heat filter on the world screen so you can judge how hot/cold an area is in relation to the rest of the planet.

There is?
I thought there was only the info on the terrain for each tile when you click it.

There used to be a bunch of filters for things like that. If they are still there I had not noticed.

Yeah, from what I know, they were removed with the introduction of the globe, rather than map. Still think the temperature overlay should have remained. It's a pain to find really cold or really hot locations without it.

Hot locations are around the equator, cold are at the extremes of the hemispheres.

You'd think so, wouldn't you. But I've found the hottest locations on some maps nearly half way between the pole and the equator.
Last map I tried, 0N 0W was about 60C, but around 35N 13E was 80C.
