Does anyone know if trees / plants grow faster in rainforests?

I beleive it is actually slower, as the majority of the ground is marshy soil which has very low fertility.

grow speed completely dependant on soil, light and temperature

rainforst does have slightly more fertile soil
it also has year round grow period at almost ideal temperature
the spots of fertile soil wil grow plants that wil distibute seeds to the surrounding area
if you dont have plants on the map it needs to spread from the map edge
by having the fertile patches will cause the map to recover faster and a lot of the plants on jungle have a faster grow speed then their coldarea counterparts so it does give the appearance of making things grow faster

The tropical biome also has a higher ideal level of plant life, so the plants there are more likely to reproduce (if I understand correctly) and the game starts off with more of them.

Arid biome is best for growing outdoors. All year growing season, lots of soil and rich soil.

u can get all yea growing in many diff biomes if close to the equator, location has more to do with growing seasons then biome

it also has tall grass
think its a different plant then the regular grass and it reproduces really quick
