Can you go outside the mine?
Hi! I’ve been playing for a couple of weeks and really enjoying the game, but I bought it hoping that at some point you can get out of the mines and explore the outside world. Does that ever happen, or is the entire game set underground? That’s really my main hope and motivation to keep playing.

entire game takes place inside moria. anything outside is cutscene only.
No.

There's a cutscene that plays at the very end, that shows you standing outside. But as soon as the end credits roll on, you will end up back inside the mountain.

Don't read this if you haven't seen the end game cut scene.
Try the other exit - the one by where the game started. There is another cut scene.

Interesting. Didn't know that.

that ending was giving me "hey-ho! we will come in and set up a trading post and help on rebuilding moria vibe" hope something like this will take place in the future
i mean "we return to moria" and not "taking a walk outside moria"
just my opinions

Gimli gave them to you, so they work for you. A common sense approach would be for the entire company to move in and help. There are two problems with that.

First, there is no coding for NPCs (other than cut scenes) so it would be nearly impossible to actually do.

Second, the only thing apparently keeping you from being named Durin is you didn't repopulate Khazad-dum. You cleared the orc towns, killed the dragon, and cleared many of the dragon offspring - which Durin was prophesied to do. You reforged Durin's Axe, the symbol of Durin, and you carry it. You found the Khazad Stone, symbol of the Durin line. You closed the dark magic fountain, a responsibility of the line of Durin.
And the f'ing King takes the Khazad Stone from you, declares it is the real Stone, and then says he is going to give it to some milquetoast in Erebor who has probably never even seen an orc. And then you're told to prepare Khazad-dum for his "return" (hint, he's never been there! And he didn't even volunteer to be part of the company that set out to reclaim it.)

Well that is what rulers do. They delegate work to others and take all the credit, just like one of the past jobs i had when i fixed something, the boss took credit for it..lol.
