tier 3 pickage weaker than tier 2?
T2 does 30 dmg to stone etc, but the T3 only does 20?

Depends on what your mining. It is weaker on some ores. Also, realize that you should be mining granite at tier 3, while at tier 2 you were mining mostly rock.
