Facing the forge, Left of the forge building, follow the path over the little river area, there's an opening. You'll need the next level of pickaxe to get through.
are you talking about the farm area? im on sandbox not main story each map is slightly different i do nto remember a river area except for main entrance and the bridge
Sorry, I'm in the campaign.. I'm not sure how much things change from seed to seed, I thought that was a chest/resource thing, but maybe more changes for sandbox? I'm honestly not sure.

For me, the mine entrance is left of the Narvi forge building entrance: there's a path that leads past a crabapple tree and a few pickables (azure, and cabbage I think), then there's an opening to the right, right after I cross, then it goes back a bit to compacted dirt wall that needs the (steel?) pickaxe minimum to get through.
i have a steel pickaxe just need to find the entrance i have run around in circles for a better part of 2 hours looking but ty

Sandbox maps seem to be extremely random so the mine entrance might not be anywhere near where you expect it to be. You said you found some stairs so maybe you need to go up or down a level and explore new areas to find that zone.
The problem is it is random location in every map seed. It is usually in the same place in story mode, but in sandbox mode, this can be anywhere. You might have to go up higher or lower.
It should be a small square sticking out from your map.

Campaign is also randomized, although some things remain the same. I'd focus on looking around theElven Quarter for a cave that has compacted dirt at the back of it. Dig through that. The cave has a smallish entrance, but goes in quite a ways.

If not in the Elven Quarter, I'm pretty sure you are still looking for a cave with compacted dirt at the back.
how cud you find orc town before mines cos i had to go threw the mines to get to orc town witch i keep dieing

Good catch, I missed that.
Kragspider, the first time you dug through compacted dirt, you entered the mines. Go back there and you should be able to replay the conversation. It was probably when you left the eleven quarter.
see that is what confuses me it says orctown is the last stop after getting into the mines but this town is on the "northern" edage of the map adjacent to the elven workshops.... i have a screenshot but it will not let me post...and remember i am playing on sandbox not main story

I think you're missing the main point of what some of us are telling you. Sandbox mode is very random. You never know where certain zones might end up in Sandbox mode and they are not necessarily going to appear in the order you expect, meaning they may not be located where you found them in the campaign mode.

That is what i said. The random map seed in sandbox mode could even have it be up near the ceiling in the elven area.
