Do you do anything with the amount of stone you get?

I have tons of regular stone, and I expect most other people play this game ends up with it too.
Do you use it for anything after you have gotten better prettier stone?

you still sometimes need vanilla stone I keep a few pallets around

I use it for temporary settlements like in the deep. And I'm still finding statues to fix.

Stone pallets are you friend. I found a awesome cave for a base in the center was a rock formation, surrounded by water and 2 waterfalls. there are 4 Bird nest with Eggs & 1 nest with feathers. A good amount of parsnips. 2 statues also has several spots where sunlight comes in naturally

I used the stone and built Stone floors covering all the water and all the ground. place wood floors near the bird nest and made a walkway with rope ladders. in front of the water fall placed a retaining wall of stone,

Only problem is stupid Orc patrols keep spawning there along with various game, & A cranky cave bear every once in a while even tho every inch is covered by Buildable area they still spawn so i get fresh meat quite a bit don't even have to leave my couch

Besides repairing statues before Dwarowdell and basic fortification, there is not much need for it. I had six full palettes in my lair, totally useless.
However mine every stone of Ihraz Granite you find. You will need for repairing statues and durin's lamps and for building bases too. Save Adamant too for fortifications and Durin lamps

Put it in backpacks and drop them into the Great Drain.

I store it on pallets. Always good to have backup supplies.
