Why so many good reviews?
I tried it in Epic about half a year age or so. It is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mass of unfriendly mechanics, boring tunnels, meaningless and clanky fights. This game is the worst sandbox I have ever played. Even boring, clanky and outdated Smalland is better than this. Or do people grade the Game like Book? Like good setting, good story? And forget that the game should be the game? As a game it gets "D" at best.

The setting is part of it, sure. As it is in most games.
But..the way you describe the game, it's probably not the game for you.
The fights are a bit clunky but it is not that bad once you get used to it.
Maybe it does need you to love the works of Tolkien and a little bit of willful ignorance where they deviated from his lore a little bit.
all in all, the game is good enough to get that many good reviews, maybe you don't like it but that does not make it a bad game for everyone.

and the dwarven songs are really well done, there is that too.

Does this make you angry?
Maybe you should buy it again on Steam and then leave a real review made by yours truly to enlighten the people with the truth.

There is no point in trying fighting everyone alone :steamsad: What makes me sad(not angry) that people see reviews, buy the game, but the game is not worth very positive reviews imao. Same was with Smalland. There were a lot of positive reviews. People began to buy, but it turned out that all those reviews were not even near the reality. Bad reviews began to appear. But not enough to tell people that the game is not that good as people tell :steamsad: tastes are differ. But sometimes people have to point out all the bad things about the projects to make devs work on problems. Nowadays people eat whatever they are given, and the industry stuck in all those unpolished and clunky games. They say: "we will buy your game, we liked that model of chair, not everything is good, but next time you will make a better game - we are sure!" . And so next time they make the same piece of halfassed ♥♥♥♥ :steamhappy: thank you none toxic environment for devs :steamhappy:

but you don't point out anything at all apart from the somewhat clunky combat?!
Be critical, by all means but be specific.
unfriendly mechanics?
Boring tunnels?
it's all so very generic and honestly, your post looks more like a troll-post or angry rant and not like valid criticism.
The game does have it's downsides and enough bugs to make an entomologist happy and that should be mentioned but not this way.

"I played the game in very early access and it was buggy"
Fun fact: Unfinished products are not finished products.

Thanks for the snotty kid forum review though, lmfao

"Nowadays" made me laugh. That's a nice cope but definitely not reality.
Since you seem to have convinced yourself that this is a recent developement, I guess I'll weclome you to the realities of the non essential luxury goods market we call gaming.

The game is actually really good. Its frustrating at times but worth the effort IMO. I am a base building enthusiast. Most of my time thus far has been trying to get my base up. Amidst incessant hordes attacking my base, invading my base, attacking me right in the middle of a build project etc it was daunting. Now that I have it built and can upgrade as I find new resources it will be fun to see the facelift progress as i unlock new things to construct.

"Why don't I spend my time playing games that I enjoy instead of posting to forums on ones that I don't?"
Gaettusk Oct 7, 2024 @ 9:20pm
Never understood the "if you don't like the game, why are you posting on the forums" types on Steam. Posts are public, and every time they have posts complaining about games. Comes off as delusional and as a weak dismissive counter-argument akin to 'I don't care;therefore you shouldn't care". Really weak

Ironic, coming from someone who posts endless game reviews on Steam

Balance is really wrong in this game, new area you don't do damage until you get the new ore etc. It's so stupid and it's like an on off switch. Farms are useless as they're tied to bat crap which is really hard to come across bats for some reason. Combat is a pass as it's ok but not great. Building is clunky, quick place is clunky. Over hyped game that is boring and shallow. 5/10 game and just too annoying to bother to complete the game.

I could not disagree more. This is one of my all time favourite games and probably the best survival/building game I've literally ever played.

1. Amazing atmosphere and accurate LOTR vibes
2. Perfect camera position
3. Love my little dwarf character
4. A ton of awesome armor/weapons
5. Genuinely tough in some scenarios
6. Great art style
7. Great building
8. Combat might not be DMC, but its better than most other survival games. The combat is 10 x better than valheim and Enshrouded. You get magic to imbue weapons with as well. I have a freaking electric halberd and my dwarf flips it around and does sick combos.
11. Good narrative, especially for a survival game
12. Even better with friends. They really emphasized this with things like sharing brews, mining and singing together etc
13. Buffs. A ton of ways to buff your hero through eating/many other ways. This is a deep survival game with some really nice rpg mechanics.

I really dont understand why you dont like it

Oh, and the music is such an awesome vibe. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE THE MUSIC

I wish I had so much time on my hands that I could complain about games that I don't care about anyway. Don't have to look under a bridge to find a troll.
