that's fine and all but is the entire game inside of a cave with no NPCs to ever consider?
It's still underground, but it's brightly lit and not dismal and awful.
But most of the game is venturing through Moria -- which is an underground city built by a people that lived most of their lives underground so...
Sets up why you're down there and what you are aiming to do, which is get back out and to your group. It's called a minor story beat.
You don't have to escape as you can simply stay underground, but most people like to have some kind of endgame to work towards as open world (sandbox) games can be overwhelming for them.
The game is about being in the Mines. That's it. Period. Either play the game and enjoy it for what it offers or don't, but whining about something that you're not going to get because of your own poor misunderstanding will not get you anything but ridiculed.
It's not lazy. Their vision was to have a game about being trapped in the Mines. Alone, isolated, unless you play with a friend. Explore, see what's around. (re)build the Mines.
You have options, but you shoehorned yourself into a goal that's unachievable, and because of the mistake you made for yourself you consider it lazy because you failed to set your expectations properly.

this sums up more than enough about the game but sure. this game is quite literally a bad copy of several other survival games and if it didnt have lotr behind it, we probably wouldn't know it exists.
First the game isn't a bad game, then it's a bad copy of several other games. First your complaint is you cannot go outside, then you reference a video stating who knows what because I am not watching it.
I'm fairly tired of you moving the goal post and committing yourself to bad faith arguments. You have no intention of actually taking responsibility for your mistake and have no intention of having a competent debate. You have your mind made up and I see no point in continuing to waste my time on you.
