Did you play Return to Moria? I think it is a hidden gem with lot's of unique features and a great atmosphere. Combat is simple but fun with a few nice mechanics. The visual art style is great and it features a lot of great setpieces that are simply beautiful.

For that sweet, sweet exclusivity money. At the cost of potential customers on Steam at a later date.
As for the game itself, it is good but the combat does suck.
I mean, sure if you're willing to trade integrity for stability. To a certain extent, I can't blame them, but also it's not like that exonerates them of having chosen money of morals. And it's certainly questionable just how valuable that money is when compared to losses over time from people losing interest in your product, trust lost from engaging in arguably petty deals, and people who will just outright refuse to do business with your company for whatever other reason.
I would say if you value your reputation, taking Epic's money is almost always a loss and, IIRC, there've been a number of stories that would seem to exonerate that belief.
No problem buddy, have a nice day.
It seems excessive, banal and useless to me to try to boycott a valid product just because it was first distributed on a non-Valve platform.
We must judge the game product for what it is and not for the platform on which it was or was not distributed.
