Otherwise yeah, silent stun grenade is pretty silly in its effectiveness and radius, if you have a melee weapon you can even walk up and stab/bludgeon them, just be aware that Scudo captains are somewhat beefier than the others.
If you don't have a suppressed weapon, a melee weapon can spottily work.
If you don't have a melee weapon, cross your fingers and get punching from behind.
Naturally, a silenced stun grenade makes your job easier (but not weapon-discharge-free).
I don't have a silent stun grenade unlocked but i guess it doesn't matter as it'll still be useless for stealth in this case right? If it won't prevent them firing their weapon the second they're hit, blowing the stealth run, then it won't help. I wanna be able to kill them while remaining in stealth. Is it really not possible?
Pretty sure must work on other elites, but can't be sure.
Alternatively, getting hit by fist or blunt/blade weapon in the head will stunlock them long enough for you to hit again. So a katana for exemple will make quick work of captains in stealth, and even creeping behind them and spaming their head with fists can be enough to stunlock them to death.
Just blast them with a suppressed weapon and hope the game doesn't do any funny business.
The whole "randomly firing when damaged despite everything you do" might be a rare bug or something I'm not looking at right, admittedly.
The game features the M4-A1 shooting rifle of legendary quality with a silencer. Of course, it costs a lot, but I think that it’s unlikely that he’ll be able to withstand a burst of fire from such a thing.
