This Q&A followed the launch of Update 15 on April 24, 2025. As future updates roll out, some answers may change, but we always follow updates with a new Q&A to ensure players have the latest information on Crime Boss: Rockay City.

While no specific AI questions were submitted for this Q&A, we want to address the community's concerns head-on. 

Our team at IGS is fully aware of the recent issues with AI behavior, particularly regarding friendly bots. This has been escalated to our top priority for fixes.

We’re currently preparing a 15.1 patch to address urgent issues from Update 15, including: 

Game crashes 
Critical gameplay bugs 

While we don’t have a confirmed release date yet, we’re pushing to deliver it as soon as possible. Stay tuned for updates—full patch notes will be shared when the patch is ready to go live.

QUESTION: Will "Operation Red Star" (Ranger’s 5th mission) be adjusted for easier gameplay? Suggestions: minigun shield, ADS, cover mechanics, or AI tweaks. 
ANSWER: That was adjusted in Update 15. Enemy spawns reduced by 40%

QUESTION: Can the "Mic Drop" clipboard objective be made more obvious with better clues? 
ANSWER: Since the clipboard isn't necessary to complete the mission and it spawns in the level on every playthrough, we don't want to make it super obvious. In stealth when you get close, there is already a Mac's VO and the clipboard is highlighted, which should make it a bit easier to notice. We'll look at the clipboard spawns and try to improve where we can. 

There also is a bug with clipping that will be removed. 

Tweak of the placement in Update 16.

QUESTION: Can the payout for "Mic Drop" be increased to match its difficulty? 
ANSWER: We increased the Mic Drop's payout slightly (from 180k to 230k). Will be in Update 15.1

QUESTION: Why do co-op lobbies time out? Are fixes planned for
ANSWER: Peer 2 peer limitation, connection quality of the host plays role. We are actively trying to improve the lobby

QUESTION: Can the co-op lobby UI be improved? Issues: confusing post-mission screens, no progression access. 
ANSWER: We are aware of these issues, and we are actively exploring the possible improvements.

QUESTION: Are there plans to add co-op to the Roguelite campaign? 
ANSWER: No, we have no plans, rogue-lite is a single player mode.

QUESTION: Can "Invite Only" lobbies be fixed to prevent friends from joining freely? Suggested states: Invite Only/Friends Only/Open. 
ANSWER: We can investigate that, not sure if possible. The easiest solution would be to set your status to ‘offline’ or ‘invisible’ in the Steam friends tab.

QUESTION: Could client-sided movement/damage be implemented to reduce desync? 
ANSWER: This would be a rather big rework, and we do not plan it at this moment.

ANSWER: EMP affecting lasers is not in plans now. New mechanics are being considered. We would like to enhance the options of players in future.

QUESTION: Is a third-person camera mode possible? 
ANSWER: Whether or not is possible is tricky. It might be, but it’s not something we want to do. The game is an FPS at its core and we don’t plan on diverting resources to implement this currently.

QUESTION: Will weapon attachments (sights, mags, grips) be added? 
ANSWER: Yes, but not in the way you are probably hoping. There will be new weapons with new pre-set attachments. But a gun crafting system is not in the cards.

QUESTION: Can we get a throwable gold ingot (like a brick but expensive)? 
ANSWER: We have some ideas for future gear, including new throwables and perks related to throwables. We are strongly considering it.

QUESTION: Will dual-wielding (akimbo) weapons be added? 
ANSWER: We are not planning on this now. It would require an animation system rewrite which would be a major divergence from our current roadmap.

QUESTION: Can enemy awareness of bullet impacts (for distractions) be increased? 
ANSWER: It works; the range is limited to 2-3m. Any more than this and it would very likely break the games stealth mechanics.

QUESTION: Will FSR/XeSS/DLSS be updated to newer versions (e.g., FSR 3.1.3)? 
ANSWER: Maybe, not a priority

QUESTION: Why does the main menu GPU usage remain high? 
ANSWER: Because of UE4’s handling of dynamic lighting. We’ll look at ways we can minimize performance impact without degrading the look of the menu. A possible solution is to put a frame cap on the menu in the game settings.

QUESTION: Will boss skins (e.g., Cagnali in stockings, Nasara’s white suit) be added? 
ANSWER: Prestige Level Unlocks maybe? We are thinking about it. So, maybe the SP only unlocks will be added there, plus new skins. We’ll discuss this internally at the studio.

QUESTION: Will underused locations (motel, police station) get new missions? 
ANSWER: Right now we are focusing on fresh new content, but as Update 15 showed, we can repurpose old locations and put unique twists onto them.

ANSWER: Prestige Level Unlocks maybe? Nothing is planned currently.

ANSWER: Intentional? No. Funny? Yes.

ANSWER: Please feel free to point those out. We would like those to be fixed. Message our community managers Luke or Jack in the CB Discord with a screenshot of the error.

QUESTION: Will new Steam achievements be added for future heists? 
ANSWER: There should be an initiative for a future update, including achievements, challenges and rewards. No details to share currently.

QUESTION: Why was the "Chuck Norris leaving town" cutscene removed? Will it return? 
ANSWER: It’s removed from the repeated victories. The cutscene still triggers after first successful completion of the rogue-lite campaign.

QUESTION: Will Lil Ze’s trailer model (fitted cap/dreads) be added to the game? 
ANSWER: That was the model we were told would be in the game, but when the patch came out it was different. Miscommunication error. Apologies!

QUESTION: Can we choose background music for missions? 
ANSWER: Kind of like a Jukebox feature? We can see what we can do. It would be also nice to add some new music tracks, we are thinking about this too. Nothing is confirmed now. 

• THE LAST VERSE is available in Co-op and the campaign! Face against Hielo in three new missions.
  
• Introducing PRESTIGE LEVELS. Level up past the current maximum level and earn a badge to show your status in lobbies.
  
• Does switching loadouts for your Boss take too long? Add BOSS SLOTS and quickly swap between your favourite presets.
  
• Co-op missions can now be freely RESTARTED from the pause menu when things go wrong.
  
• COLD STRIKE mission is now accessible in the campaign. Wait for a call from the CIA as you gain influence in the city.

General

• The Last Verse plotline is now available as an urban legend, campaign plotline and as three separate missions:
  - Rendezvous
  - Payback
  - Mic Drop
  
• Level up your Progression level after unlocking everything to earn cash and prestigious level badges.
  
• Purchase boss slots for your multiplayer cash to store easily swappable presets.
  
• Dollar costs that were too long to fit in certain screens now use the short format ($250K, $1.05M)
  
• NEW labels are now displayed for unseen Co-op missions.
  
• Recommended missions will now automatically recommend new missions added in the most recent pdate until they are played a few times.

• “Cage” now carries a brick (previously had no equipment).

Perks and equipment

Campaign

• Cold Strike mission becomes available mid-playthrough. Complete a heist, and the government may leave you a message.
  
• Increased costs on higher difficulties.
  
• Added some assurances that the generated heisters for hire won’t come with the same perks and loadout.
  
• Added multiple new stats to the Details screen at the end of a campaign run.
  
• The Armored Convoy mission has its own new icon to differentiate it from its easier variant.
  
• The High-Security Robbery mission has its own new icon to differentiate it from its easier variant.
  
• Timed heat and investigation effects (i.e. no heat for a day after the police ambush event) now display their duration in the Sheriff’s tab.
  
• Paused investigation (e.g. in Cagnali’s Order) is mentioned on the new day screen.
  
• A different cutscene is being used for the Strong Arm Dollar Dragon goal.

• Fixed an exploit allowing high-level players to earn multiplayer cash only by restarting the campaign.
  
• Tier 3 enemy armies should no longer be displayed in red when you also have army tier 3.
  
• Fixed the Hard and Extreme difficulty warnings, which were sometimes shown for players well past the level threshold.
  
• After purchasing assets or gaining a boss level, the asset shop should be refreshed right away in case there are new assets to unlock.
  
• Certain heists weren’t configured to support stealth-related bonus objectives. They support them now.
  
• The warning when carrying maximum bags now correctly says only the secondary weapon is allowed.
  
• Prevented multiple lines from being skipped at once sometimes in cutscenes.
  
• The starting character in the tutorial mission now has a melee weapon.
  
• Several typos.

• Voice chat for consoles is not available at this time.
