How does co-op work in this game?

You can play the multiplayer in co-op, the campaign is (as of now) only singleplayer instead.
To answer your question - absolutely yes. You can play with bots or with other people.

Ah, I was just making sure I read the store page correctly. Campaign is SP only right now?

For now yes, but it's been asked many times to open it up so maybe in the future it will be possible to play campaign in co-op somehow.

There's "Urban Legends" mode which is something akin to story-tied mini-campaigns.

It contains 18 missions, with [mostly simple] cutscenes. It does use some of the maps \ heists you can find in other modes though. "Shuffle" works as "mini-roguelite" MP mode.

I forgot to answer if we think it's worth it: so far both me & every guy from my crew who tested it or even bought it - liked it. Ranging from "that sh#t's great!" to "eh, it's decent".

There's 3 game modes in multiplayer:

• Missions: host a chosen kind of a heist \ job \ opportunity
  
• Shuffle: play series of missions in a roguelite fashion, you fail you restart, rewards accumulate
  
• Urban Legends, which I've explained above

...and there's quickplay which matches you for "Normal" difficulty with extra payout.

Missions-wise, game offers:

• 5 big heists + 3 DLC heists (e.g. regional branch bank hits, rival gang HQ hit),
  
• 3 "medium" heists + 1 DLC heist (e.g. bigger jewelry stores or local banks),
  
• 4-5 small time jobs (e.g. hitting an armored truck or stealing from rival gang).
  
• Urban Legends contains 18 missions in vanilla + 9 DLC missions.

Sure, some missions \ locations overlap, but there's usually some changes here & there.

8 + 4 + 4 + 27 = 43 missions to play in Coop.

For that price & with that fun gameplay & standards, I'd say it's well worth the price.
