Single-Player Question
Hey, this looks great, but I'm only interested in playing by myself. Is the game playable solely as a single-player game if one wants? I have to admit the store page isn't entirely clear on the subject, to me anyway.

Thank you for your time.

Yes, the Roguelite campaign you can play over and over again and there's a ton of content (some of it randomized) to keep on playing for a long time. DLCs add more story/heist content too.

I have 425+ hours in it in the EGS and Steam beta versions and that was 99% single player. Works offline too.

Wonderful, that's what I wanted to hear, thanks!

Nice, sold me on it too, been dying for a good heist game after PD3 crashed and burned

I've had it on Epic since launch and you can absolutely play by your self. I've only ever played that way.

You can also play online mode in solo, bots are supported. And they are godlike when compared to PD counterparts.

Yeah thanks. I have been doing that.
I like to learn the maps and try to figure out different ways to beat them before going in with other players.

Good to hear solo is possible and that bots are decent.

As long as you don't expect micro-management of bots, you should be fine.

E.g. that you can tell them to hold, but they can still respond to incoming fire, a downed team mate, incoming grenades, etc.

After giving the 'begin heist' signal they will also make sure any civvies you intimidate get tie-wrapped, etc. and they will help with looting.

A commong thing I do is that I loot and throw the bags on the floor and let the AI bring it to the van. Or me working a drill/buzzsaw while the AI keeps the cops/SWAT/rival gang off my back. Or generally them taking fire/being a decoy for SWAT while I flank and take them down.

You can also order them to loot specific items and/or subdue specific enemies. But no micro-management up to the point where you can move them to an exact location to the exact millimeter and expect them to stay there and do nothing until you give them another order. They are semi-autonomous so to speak. And to good use I would say! Especially once you start getting the better ones and better weapons.

Of course, if you don't like bots helping you, you can always go in alone, that's also possible. Though having someone to revive me when I mess up is the reason I usually bring at least one. ;)

I love competent bots, so that sounds terrific.

order them to subdue/zip tie every one and even kill a certain enemy! loot a certain loot , open small vaults , guard a spot so that they zip tie civilians entering the bank in stealth, they will pick bags up from the ground and put them in the van , in stealth they are careful not to alarm people and walk stealthy to the van as well
they are 100x better than ANYTHING Payday bots were doing for the past decade lmao

you can play online in multiplayer , in Campaign you are offline and not on a server even with bots so that’s a win, you can pause the game in the Campaign since it’s not on the servers and is fully offline , even if your connection fluctuates you won’t get disconnected
