I shouldn't be penalised for non-humans behaving like the stereotypical 'ranked teammates'.
ESPECIALLY when to buy them costs a fortune, and only slows your progress.
If you want to go back and rescue them, then that's your choice to include that as part of your preferred playstyle. No judgement there. If you want to use them as extra muscle to cheat higher difficulties, that's still your choice to include that as part of your playstyle and I'm not judging you for doing that.
But don't penalise everyone else, because you don't feel sufficiently compelled to play a certain way. It would be like saying "we've changed this game to hardcore-mode only, because we want players to avoid dying so much" - and only adds grind to the game.
I'm curious. Do you have a specific game in mind?
