The game does have enough of it's own flair and style to give it a identity separate from Payday, as well as it's own set of game mechanics. Some of which I enjoy and some of which I dislike. It's not copying Payday it's competing with it. There have been people saying this is what Payday 3 should of been when it came out, and I personally agree with them.
i will give the game a shot with a friend then, if we don't like it within the first hour and a half we are just gonna refund it.
It feels a lot more arcade style where as, at least after playing this, payday feels more simulation (think like Forza vs Assetto Corsa or F1 sim).
You're not completely screwed if you wanted to stealth but the heist goes loud which makes it more fun if you're playing with people that don't really like stealth or want the pressure of ruining the heist.
It has a much different progression system and no skill trees. There are bonus' that you can unlock and apply but it's like increasing damage, health recovery speed or more time to be detected but much different than skills you get in PD.
You can subdue as many guards as you want (no pagers) but you can only kill a two before the heist goes loud.
All in all, I think PD is a better mechanically (even PD3 feels a bit more polished than this though the core of this is still good) but I think this can be more fun especially if you're playing with people that don't love stealth in PD.
but you can unlock bosses, team mates, guns by playing the game.
the single player mode is totally different.
you try it, you can refund if you dont like it.
- Stealth is MUCH easier to the point it's dumbed down if you know what to do. PAgers do not exist as long as you SUBDUE guards. Killing guards and breaking cameras get you a strike, however. 3rd Strika and it's loud.
- Loud is more reminiscent of PD:TH (from what I've heard, have yet to play it) with cops being more intense during pushes and it's wise for th eplayer to push forward when the cops retreat. The more loud missions you do in one day, the higher level the cops start at depending o your heat level.
- Bots are SIGNIFICANTLY more competent that Payday 2 bots. They're less tanky, but they can can secure loot for you and they do their best subduing civilians and guards. But they're not perfect, of course. But remember when yo usolo stealth in Payday 2 and you spend an eternity securing bag one by one? Throw them to you bots and they'll secure them for you. Heck, you can even instruct them to help loot the place as well.
- You can carry two bags, but you're limited to only using secondary. One character can carry 3 bags, and there's an equipment that lets you carry+1 bag for a while when it's active.
- Instead of drill/saws jamming all the damn time, you can speed them up instead. However, timing it wrong will overheat it, and that's all your fault.
- Game's mainly roguelite, and while it has some similarities to PAyday, it can be a nice alternative if you're looking for a different Payday heist feel with friends.
But that's just my opinion.
