Welcome, oh glorious UE expert! The game is based on UE4 that came out way before 2024. I'm not sure if this has anything with shader compilation on every launch, just pointing out that you're full of BS. Thank you.

game is now on unreal engine 5 not 4

i just press escape and skip it, if it really takes that long that it is a problem maybe you need to look at a pc upgrade?

Has nothing to do with a specific game engine. Normally one compiles shaders and saves the result in a binary cache file which loads on start if it exists and versioning is correct. Its just that the studio did only 80% of the work instead of presenting a 100% solution.

It does to me at very start. I'll use a NVMed rive, so mostly takes 15-20 secs, just weird. Onl Halo: Infinite does that, but that issue is more deeper. Related to drivers and broken game engine.
Last time I checked this game use Unreal 4, doesn't? also Unreal 5 should have less isuee then 4.

another expert on drivers and broken engines? Please enlighten us, oh guru, in what way exactly the game engine is broken, thank you.

What I did to you? I laso talked about Halo: Infinite, which in-house engine is a mess. And it's broken since a few months now, some reason every start compiling shaders (newer drivers make the game crash, maybe altest Nvidia driver fix... the crashing), which depends on RIG and drives takes some time. But that game using Slipspace Engine,t his on Unreal 4 and so far I never encountered and same issue.

There are a zillion topics about this... It's just how it is, you can skip it with escape but the tradeoff is that you will stutter/lag for a while.
Either that, or some random generic "loading" screen with no interaction...

You didn't answer my question. You talk about things you know nothing about and you avoid straightforward questions, you get called out. Seems fair to me. Here's an example of people, that somewhat know what they're talking about, discussing a traversal stutters in UE5 games. Notice how they don't say "broken" or even assert that the engine is the problem:

My big apologize, master! For now I won't post nothing, nowhere.

Since you have nothing worthwhile to say, it's probably for the best.
