Stealth feels totally broken compared to launch
I last played this game when it launched on Epic. Back then, stealth missions were fun and pretty doable most of the time.

Now, stealth feels almost entirely broken. Oftentimes, there are too many enemies or cameras, detection feels REALLY easy for enemies, and certain story missions feel next to impossible. Has anyone else noticed this?

Stealth on some maps is pending a buff to make it harder because it's way too easy even on extreme :/ Lower the difficulty if you find it too hard.

stealth is really really really really really really easy currently. on high heat extreme difficulty i will sometimes accidentally stealth some missions completely because the stealth is literally that easy.

There are a couple things to note. Heat matters, more global heat when you start (heat not investigation) will mean more cameras and guards usually. Second is that character class matters, if you aren't playing as someone with the stealth skill you will find it a bit rougher, if you are playing with someone who is of the merc class you will get seen even faster than normal (thats part of their class modifiers, just like how stealth people also move faster). The sneaky class is just inherently better at sneaking and gets seen slower (and note i mean class not the skill, stealth class with stealth skill is comically sneaky)

You're probably just making mistakes or misunderstanding because stealth is almost laughably easy as long as you don't get surprised. (like i find it easy to finish alot of maps within 1 or 2 mins in stealth, from load in to van out)

Stealth is borderline broken as its so easy to sneak around, I honestly dont get where you're struggling.

Anyone coming in from Payday 2 would do a spit take.

At least you can 100% secure any map in this game, although Payday 2 low key ENCOURAGED just killing civvies due to the awful pathfinding and the fact that they actually broke hostage pathfinding after an update. 4 Pagers (Meaning, up to 4 guards to kill or dominate/subdue) and that's it. I'm still stuck on that mentality when playing this game.

The only broken thing in steath is when they bug out and start detecting things through walls. Stealth is easy in this game. At least overwatched compounds, plant bomb on vehicles and underground vault force you to analyse the damn place before going in.

And to add things, you can actualyl distract guards into safe areas usin the almighty brick. Just don't let them see you toss it. Or don't toss it into their face.

Remove from your mind the mentality of “have to secure every guard” and instead find a path when there is an exorbitant amount of guards. Silent stun grenades help. Brick is really good and so is sensor grenade. Use the tools.

I do think it’s insane how many guards are on some maps though. How can this small warehouse turn a profit when they have 30+ guards on staff?

Speaking of silly brick mistakes, I once tried to be clever and distract the guards in the jewelry store and threw it in plain sight. The three of them all looked at the brick as the suspicion meter filled up, then they all looked at me as if to say "What in Sam Hill were you thinking?"

And then it got really loud.

That's a deliberate exercise, it was made specifically for "Stealth is too ez" kind of threads, so the designer willingly made a very hard map to stealth :D
If anyone is wondering and truly wants to have a stealth challenge, it's "High-sec warehouse", available as one of the warehouse missions in MP as well. To stealth that fully, it requires some serious skill and patience, several orders of magnitude more than any other map.

You got it completely backwards. It was broken, and now it's fine. Stealth used to be stupidly easy because you could just shout down every single guard. But still, stealth should be harder.
